About

My name is Carol. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. In 2007, I began my pet sitting business, Hill Country Pet Sitters Plus.

My story begins like other pet sitters. I have always had a love for all animals. I grew up around dogs. The dogs we had belonged to the “family”. As a child, I wanted my own pets, so I adopted lizards, turtles, and frogs. Once grown, I acquired “normal” pets of my own, turtles, birds, fish, cats, and dogs. I now have just one cat and small dogs.

I graduated from Baylor University with a major in Speech Pathology and Audiology. I was then on my way to having a career. One day, I began having children. I had two, Chris and David. My two boys were such an answer to prayer. When they were teenagers, I decided to go back to school and earned two masters’ degrees, one in Early Childhood and the other in Mid Management & Administration. My career in education was flourishing. When I wasn’t working, I would facilitate the rescue of animals and assist my friends with their pets. They told me I was like Dr. Doolittle. I talk to the animals and seem to have a gift of knowing how to help them when in need.

My two boys grew up to be wonderful young men.

David, my youngest son has given me 4 beautiful grandchildren.

My son Chris & his fiancée went to be with the Lord in December 2002. He was in the Navy at the time and the two of them were involved in a fatal accident.

2002 was an eventful year because I also directed a dog rescue from a puppy mill of approximately 100 dogs. During and after the rescue, I developed a strong desire to learn about the health and care of dogs and cats. My veterinarian allowed me to visit him daily to observe and learn about the health and care of dogs and cats. I learned a great deal, which contributed to a newly born passion, pet care, and I sought to learn more. After extensive study and experience with pets, people began to ask me questions about the health and care of their own animals. I was shocked that I could answer their questions and be correct.

My life changed dramatically from 2002- 2005. After suffering a heart attack and losing Chris, I was forced into retirement. Living in Missouri City was a constant reminder of Chris, so I moved to New Braunfels, Texas and built a house. After a couple of years living in New Braunfels, I no longer was afflicted with the issues I suffered at retirement. Since I had the opportunity to learn about the health and care of animals, I decided to begin a new career in pet sitting.

I offer pet sitting/home care, in home boarding , overnight stays when I stay overnight to take care of client’s pet/pets in the comfort of their own home, grooming cats and dogs, dog walking, and pet taxi.

I grow to love client’s pet(s) pets. I am very dedicated, dependable, responsible, honest and compassionate in my business and in my personal life. I don’t think of pets that I take care of as a “job”. The pets I care for are “family”!
